The heat is on
Things have been heating up in the desert lately. Literally. For any San Diegans planning to take in some Cactus League action this weekend, this humble friar suggests a really large sombrero and an industrial-sized bottle of sunscreen. In the coming days, we should hit 90 degrees in Peoria so don't forget the water, too. For fans seeking shade for tomororw's game against Colorado, I suggest looking for seats higher in sections 200-210 and 300-303 at Peoria Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Padres today played their first split squad games of the Spring, traveling to Mesa to take on the Cubs and Tempe to play the Angels. David Wells made his first Cactus League start in Tempe. Check out the notes for the game at Temple Diablo Stadium.
Yesterday, the Padres dropped an 8-6 decision to the Cubs in Peoria. Terrmel Sledge led the offense with a grand slam off Chicago pitcher Wade Miller. Padres.com also caught up with catcher Josh Bard. Click here for the interview.
