1984: Every batter in the lineup gets a hit, including leadoff batter Tony Gwynn and pitcher Tim Lollar with two each, but the Padres fall 6-4 at Jack Murphy Stadium to the Montreal Expos, taking their sixth straight loss. The streak extends to seven the next day as the Padres fall to 18-18. Then they win 18 of their next 23 to take control of the National League West en route to the first pennant in franchise history.
