This date in Padres history: July 24

2007: Center fielder Mike Cameron hits a three-run home run off Ubaldo Jimenez in the first inning to help the Padres to a 5-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Padres starter Chris Young leaves the game after two innings because of a strained oblique muscle. At 54-45, the Padres remain a game behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.

2001: Arizona left-hander Randy Johnson strikes out 14 batters in 7 1/3 innings and allows only one hit, a single by Bubba Trammell, as the Diamondbacks beat the Padres 11-0 at Bank One Ballpark.
