Reineke to start Saturday

Padres manager Bud Black on Friday confirmed that right-hander Chad Reineke will start Saturday in the spot in the rotation opened when Chris Young went to the disabled list.

Reineke, 26, came to the Padres organization last month in the trade that sent veteran lefty Randy Wolf to the Houston Astros. It will be Reineke's Big League debut, although he spent a day in the Majors this year with the Astros without seeing game action.

Reineke, a 6-foot-6 fastball/slider pitcher, was 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in three starts with Triple-A Portland. At Triple-A Round Rock before the trade, he went 5-9 with a 4.41 ERA in 20 games (19 starts).
