EBO to be a manager in 2009
Friar John wonders if it's possible to get dirt on the uniform while managing in the dugout. If it is, Eric Owens surely will pull it off in 2009.
The former Padres outfielder, a fan favorite for his humble origins and hard-charging playing style while with the team from 1999-2000, has been promoted to manager in the Angels chain. Owens will be the manager of Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, according to an Angels press release.
It's Owens' first managerial gig. He has been a coach in the Angels system for a few years.
FJ will make a point in 2009 to find out if Owens secretly wears one of those old Eric Owens Dirty T-shirt giveaways under his uniform.
In the meantime, FJ wishes EBO well and wishes a happy Thanksgiving to all who peruse this blog.
