A Halloween treat: The Swinging Friar will join you for trick or treating

Halloween is right around the corner, and for the first time you can trick or treat with the Swinging Friar and Pad Squad!

Bid on the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trick or treat with the Padres mascot and a Pad Squad member -- all for a good cause.

The Halloween goodie is part of the Padres Charity Auction online on padres.com. This online auctions are ongoing and offer up some pretty cool keepsakes.

Trick or treating with the Swinging Friar, of course, is a unique prize. The winning bidder of the "Trick or Treat with the Friar" package will have the Swinging Friar and one member of the Pad Squad participate in trick or treating in the bidder's neighborhood on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6-7 p.m., or an earlier one-hour period of mutual agreement.

The one-hour visit must be within 30 miles of PETCO Park and in the United States. The auction is active now and ends Monday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. PDT.

Friar John is not the Swinging Friar, even if we share a physique. So FJ won't be there to document the trick or treating. But FJ knows the Swinging Friar has a few spare robes. Stich one into a candy bag, and you've got a major Halloween score in the making.
