Stay Classy? Padres are doing just that
The Padres are excited to be among the nominees to receive a Classy Award through the organization Stay Classy San Diego.
The inaugural Classy Awards recognize the Padres as a business that has made a significant impact on the community.
Here's how stayclassy.org defines the honor:
Significant Impact by a Business is awarded to the business that has given the most back to the community. This business takes social responsibility seriously -- whether it's through group volunteer work or generous donations of money, products or services -- and the community is a better place because of their efforts.
No doubt the Padres organization, spearheaded by a dedicated Community Relations department, lives up to that description. The team is in good company among the five nominees, joined by Nika Water, Bank of America, Verant Group and Sempra Energy.
The winning business will be determined by an online vote. You can vote now through Nov. 14 at the Stay Classy website. Your support is much appreciated!
Through the Padres Foundation, the Padres endeavor to improve lives with their Live, Learn and Play initiatives. The Padres support many health and fitness endeavors, spearhead the Padres Scholars among its educational efforts and promote youth sports with such programs as the Little Padres Parks.
