Shortstop Jose Rondon returned two games after being hit in the neck by a bad hop and went 2-for-5 with a double, a steal, a RBI and two runs scored in Single-A Lake Elsinore’s 11–4 win over Bakersfield at The Diamond.

Rondon, 20, was acquired last week in the trade that sent right-handed closer Huston Street to the Angels.

Storm outfielders Alberth Martinez, Mallex Smith and Jeremy Baltz went a combined 8-for-15 with two homers and seven RBIs.

Martinez (.271) was 3-for-5 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored. Smith (.327) was 2-for-5 with a homer. Baltz (.226) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Designated hitter Benji Gonzalez (.314) was 2-for-3 with a walk, a sacrifice fly and two RBIs.

Right-handed starter Colin Rea (9–5, 3.51 earned run average) allowed a run on six hits with four strikeouts in six innings to pick up the win.

Lake Elsinore won its 60th game and is 60–44 with a 20–14 record in the second half of the California League season. The Storm are tied for the second-half lead of the South Division.

ON THE MOVE: Infielder Jace Peterson was returned to Triple-A El Paso by the Padres when right-handed starting pitcher Jesse Hahn was recalled.

Around the Farm:

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (50–57): Fresno 9, CHIHUAHUAS 7 — All three Padres on rehab assignments in El Paso played Friday night. SS Everth Cabrera (.308) was 2-for-5 with a double and RBI. 2B Jedd Gyorko (.300) was 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, a RBI and two runs scored. 1B Yonder Alonso (.235) was 1-for-3. RF Rymer Liriano (.545) was 3-for-4 with a walk. Starting RHP Donn Roach (2–4, 5.26 ERA) allowed nine runs (seven earned) on 10 hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings. RHP Keyvius Sampson (6.69) struck out four in two perfect innings. RHP Michael Nix (5.40) allowed a hit with a strikeout in one inning. RHP Jerry Sullivan (2.04) pitched a perfect inning.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (54–51, 18–17): Frisco 7, MISSIONS 4–2B Cory Spangenberg (.349) was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. LF Hunter Renfroe (.237) was 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI. Starting RHP James Needy (2.96 ERA) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings. LHP Jeff Ibarra (2.89) allowed a run on a hit and a walk in two innings. RHP Michael Dimock (1–5, 3.18) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings to take the loss.

SINGLE-A (low) FORT WAYNE (43–59, 13–20): TIN CAPS 6, Beloit 2 — DH Fernando Perez (.301) was 3-for-4 with his 20th double and ninth homer with four RBIs. SS Trea Turner (.455) was 2-for-4 with a run scored. C Ryan Miller (.261) had two doubles in four at-bats. CF Henry Charles (.219) was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Starting RHP Kyle Lloyd (4–4, 4.46 ERA) allowed four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. RHP Josh Richardson (5.00) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings. RHP Eric Yardley (3.68) retired the only two hitters he faced for his first save.

SINGLE-A (short season) EUGENE (17–25, 2–2): Tri-City 14, EMERALDS 7 — DH Jalen Goree (.240) went 2-for-5 with a double, a steal and two RBIs. SS Franchy Cordero (.277) was 2-for-5 with a RBI but also committed his 21st error. LF Yale Rosen (.232) was 2-for-4 with a RBI. C Miguel Del Castillo (.234) was 2-for-4 with a double. 2B River Stevens was 2-for-4. Starting RHP Logan Jernigan (0–1, 4.87 ERA) allowed eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
ARIZONA ROOKIE PADRES (7–20): The Padres were off Friday.

DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (12–35): PADRES 8, Twins 1–3B Leudy Molina (.260) was 2-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. C Fabian Castillo homered. DH Ronaldo Contreras (.187) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. RF Aurelio Perez (.219) was 3-for-3 with a RBI. Starting RHP Joel Linares (4.68 ERA) allowed one run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings. LHP Eisler Cordova (3–0, 2.11) allowed a walk with three strikeouts in three hitless innings. RHP Carlos Lora (2.57) allowed a walk with a strikeout in two hitless innings to complete the two-hitter.
