Fernando Perez had three hits — including his seventh home run — and three RBIs Monday night to lead Single-A Fort Wayne to an 11–6 win over South Bend in Fort Wayne.

The 20-year-old, left-handed hitter out of Otay Ranch High was 3-for-5 with his 19th double and the homer to raise his batting average to .295. He scored two runs and the three RBIs raised his season total to 56.

With shortstop Trea Turner, the Padres first-round pick in the June draft, now at short for the TinCaps, Josh VanMeter has moved to second. That has moved Perez to third, where he played Monday night, or first. Perez was the Padres’ third-round pick in the 2012 draft.

VanMeter (.249) was 3-for-4 with three RBIs Monday. Turner was 2-for-4 with a walk in his second start for Fort Wayne.

Right fielder Franmil Reyes (.274) had three doubles (now 20 on the season) in five at-bats for a RBI. Center fielder Ronnie Richardson (.278) was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple with a RBI and two runs scored. Catcher Adolfo Reina (.255) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Starting left-hander Jeff Enloe allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. Enloe is 1–3 with a 2.79 earned run average for Fort Wayne, which is 37–56 on the season and 7–17 in the second half.
