Padres On Deck: LHP MacKenzie Gore sharp again with Double-A San Antonio; SS Eguy Rosario homers

LHP MacKenzie Gore

Left-hander MacKenzie Gore made another strong start Friday night in his march back.

The Padres’ №4 prospect — and №62 in the MLB Pipeline’s overall minor league rankings — gave up a run on three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in four innings Friday night for Double-A San Antonio Friday night to lower his earned run average for the Missions to 3.00.

Shortstop Eguy Rosario (.281), the Padres’ №15 prospect, had a two-run homer in four at-bats for the Missions.

Meanwhile, pinch-hitter Adrian Perez (.328) hit a pinch-hit, walk-off grand slam to give the Padres of the Dominican Summer League an 8–4 win over the Reds. Right-handed reliever Javier Zenizo (2.73 ERA) allowed a run on 3 hits with six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings for the Padres, who improved to 31–16.
