Six lesser heralded prospect in the Padres’ minor league system had big games with the bat Thursday night:
— Triple-A shortstop Matthew Batten (.297) was 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored for El Paso.
— Double-A center fielder Esteury Ruiz (.246) was 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored for San Antonio.
— Low Single-A third baseman Cole Cummings (.406) was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs for Lake Elsinore.
— And in the Arizona Complex League, three Padres had big games. Left fielder Justin Farmer (.302) was 3-for-4 with a double, a sacrifice fly, three RBIs and a run.
