Aug. 23, 1988Carmelo Martinez was 3-for-5 with a double, two homers, four RBIs and three runs scored in the Padres 9–1 win over the Phillies at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.

Aug. 23, 1993 — Left fielder Phil Plantier hits a grand slam homer as the Padres defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 7–5 at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.

Aug. 23, 1998 — Left fielder Greg Vaughn was 3-for-6 with his 42nd homer, three RBIs and three runs scored as the Padres score a 13–11, 10-inning win at Milwaukee.

Aug. 23, 2002 — The Padres defeat the Marlins 18–2 at Qualcomm Stadium for the largest margin of victory in franchise history. Outfielder Bubba Trammell is 4-for-5 with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored.

Aug. 23, 2004Phil Nevin is 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, five RBIs and two runs scored as the Padres defeat the Mets 9–4 in New York.

Aug. 23, 2005 — The Padres defeat Houston 2–0 in one hour and 53 minutes in the fastest game ever played at Petco Park. Right-hander Jake Peavy allowed four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in a complete-game shutout while out-dueling Roger Clemens. Right-fielder Brian Giles was 2-for-3 with a triple and homer and drove in both runs.

Aug. 23, 2006Geoff Blum is 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Mike Cameron adds a solo homer as the Padres defeat the Dodgers 7–2 at Petco Park.

Aug. 23, 2013Jedd Gyorko is 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBIs as the Padres defeat the Chicago Cubs 8–6 at Petco Park.
