Aug. 23, 2005 — The Padres defeat Houston 2–0 in one hour and 53 minutes in the fastest game ever played at Petco Park. Right-hander Jake Peavy allowed four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in a complete-game shutout while out-dueling Roger Clemens. Right-fielder Brian Giles was 2-for-3 with a triple and homer and drove in both runs.

Aug. 23, 2013 — Jedd Gyorko is 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBIs as the Padres defeat the Chicago Cubs 8–6 at Petco Park.
